Day 14… Ready

I am so ready to workout tomorrow it’s ridiculous. I just need to go to sleep so I’m able to wake up in the morning. It’s midnight now. Today just flew by! I’m gonna have a great week! I’ve decided that nothing is gonna hold me down this week! Goodnight Tumblr!

Activity: break day

Day 13… Turn around

Do you ever notice when you have a bad week how days that you used to consider average suddenly seem amazing? Today was one of those average but amazing days. Wouldn’t you know… it all started with an incredible workout. This morning was Step Aerobics with my mom and the routine that the instructor had lined up was so awesome! Then I got new tires for my car and I only had to wait 30 minutes. The last time I got tires it took 2 hours. I got my nails done and then went to my grandmother’s new house to help her unpack some boxes. She just moved here from California because my grandpa passed away about a year ago. I was happy to help plus I got to spend time with her. I’m glad she moved here. Anyway, on my way home I bought groceries because it’s my turn to cook dinner for my whole family tomorrow evening. I made Root Beer Float Cookies for dessert and they came out so tasty! I feel better now. I’m happy about that.

Activity: Step Aerobics, 591 calories burned

Day 12… If its not one thing

… it’s another. This damn week I swear. There has been some highlights. Monday at the lake was awesome and karaoke last night was so fun. Other than that, it’s been a craptastic week. I woke up at 530am to workout, which was only 3 hours after I went to bed and decided that sleeping for 3 more hours would be better for my mind and body than working out. I had a dentist appointment this morning before work. It turns out that my old dentist was lazy and let my teeth rot out of my head. I’m glad I found a new one. However, she didn’t have any good news for me. All my fillings need to be replaced and I need a crown. Thats gonna set me back about $800. Plus I have to start wearing my retainer at night. I guess when it rains, it pours. There is a silver lining. I got on the scale this morning. I’m at 186!! I forgot to mention that I didn’t gain any weight on the cruise. I stayed at 188. And now a week later I’m down 2 lbs. Thats the best news I’ve heard all week. I’m ready for a relaxing weekend. I sure as hell need it.

Day 11… A bit better

Today went a bit better than the rest of my week has been. I woke up at 5am to workout and I was dead tired but I did it anyway. P90x2 is so damn hard. I’m still convinced that I’m not ready for but I’m gonna push through it anyway. I will improve. I hope I improve anyway. Right now it is 1:35am and I just got home from a date with my best guy friend Kevin. We had a great time! You can’t beat karaoke and vodka cranberries. With that being said, I’m setting my alarm to workout but I’m making no promises. Plus I weigh in tomorrow. I hope the alcohol doesn’t effect that!

Activity: X2 Core (P90x2)

Day 10… Like crap

I’m having the worst week ever! Let me get this off my chest and then maybe the bad aura around me will go away and leave me alone. Monday was great except for the fact that I didn’t workout! Then Tuesday came and when I got to work I learned that I have to take mandatory overtime for the next few months of 5-10 hours a week which means 9am-8pm shifts every day. Plus I didn’t finish my homework from the night before so it was overdue and I didn’t finish it on my lunch break so I had to come home and work on it. I am mad that its my very last paper and it was late. And a really good friend of mine was in town and was supposed to come see me but she ended up running out of time. This morning I woke up at 5:30am so I could workout and my body did not agree. I had a major headache. I took some excedrine and got back in bed until 7:00am. Thankfully when I woke up it was gone but I didn’t get my workout which is crappy. I got to work and when I was taking the last drink of my protein shake, I spilled it all down the front of my shirt. To top that off, I put on my jacket to cover up my stained shirt and shortly after that I spilled coffee all over my jacket! UGH!! I get home (at 8p) and Shawn tells me that I have to take his car to work on Friday so he can get new tires put on mine (and his car has no AC) and reminds me that he has a big date for us planned that night so I need to remember to wear a dress to work. So riding in the heat in a dress is gonna suck. Plus I have a teeth cleaning that morning. I have to wake up at 5:00am to workout tomorrow. We will see if my body agrees to that in the morning. What a week. And it’s only halfway over.

Activity: missed

Day 9… What have I done?

Let me tell you. I was not and am not ready for P90x2. That damn balance ball. I thought I had good balance until I met that ball. And the things than Tony asks you to do on top of it? MAD I TELL YOU!! I can’t even think of the names of the moves I couldn’t do this morning. I’ve blocked it out of my memory. People do that to traumatic experiences. I hope I get better at it soon. I feel like a complete idiot.

Activity: X2 Balance & Power (P90x2)

Day 7 & 8… The Lake

This has been the best Memorial Day weekend ever! I didn’t post last night because I was so exhausted from having so much fun that I just plum forgot. My best friend’s mom has an incredible piece of property on a lake that’s about an hour south of Dallas and I’ve been going out there for years. Come to think of it, I’ve known Candice now for over 10 years so I have spent many a holiday at the lake lot! This year was different. There are usually a million people out there visiting Candice and her family but this year it was just seven of us. I got to spend some real quality time with the people I love. I hope I get to have more time like that with them. I love being a part of their family!

Activity: none (DVDs at the lake? Yea right!)

Day 6… Well

The good news? I made it to the gym this morning. I loved it. You know what they say… you never regret the workout you complete. The Step Aerobics instructor at my gym has been instructing aerobics for over 15 years. Every time I walk though the door, the routine is new and exciting. Even after 15 years she is creating new moves, new routines, and new ways of stepping. I am so lucky that I get to train with her.

The bad news? The GRE didn’t go so well. In my eyes anyway. I told my friend Kevin that “passing” the GRE is in the eyes of the beholder. Technically, I passed it because UNT is not requiring me to get any certain score, they just want me to take it. However, I didn’t do so well but normal standards. The lowest you can make is a 130 and the highest is a 170. In the math portion, I made a 143 and in the English portion I made a 152. I don’t think that’s good at least my English portion was above the middle. Oh well, thats life.

Activity: Step Aerobics at the gym, 545 calories burned, 8 min fat burn, 49 min fitness

Day 5… Stress

Ok I am about to have a nervous breakdown. I’m taking the GRE tomorrow and after taking two practice tests, I have noticed that I more than likely going to FAIL the math portion of the test. Me… FAIL! I don’t fail at school. I have a 3.93 GPA. I should know this shit. Stupid math. I’ve decided that working out tomorrow may not happen. I’m going to get up in the morning and decide to either workout or study a few more hours. Studying may win this one. Damn it.

Activity: Pure Cardio (Insanity), 328 calories burned, 17 min fat burn, 23 min fitness

Day 4… Finally

I am finally excited about this 90 Day run!! What a difference a day makes! P90x2 is AMAZING! Now mind you, I’ve only done one DVD so far… but I loved it! And there are a few moves that I simply cannot do yet. One of the is a triceps kick back where you balance yourself on a stability ball on one arm. Oh my GAWD that’s hard! I ha to give up balancing on the ball and just do it from the floor. The other move is called Crunchy Lever Pull-Up and it is something that I may never be able to do. I still to this day cannot do unassisted pull ups and in this move, you have to pull your knees to your chest and basically invert yourself under the bar. No way. Not today anyway. Other than that, it was fantastically amazing!!

Activity: X2 Total Body and X2 Ab Ripper (P90x2), 473 calories burned, 58 min fat burn, 25 min fitness
